Recently, S&S Art and artist Cyril Kongo held a party "Celebrating Life" to meet & greet art lovers in Hanoi. “Celebrating Life” took place at Cyril Kongo Vietnam Gallery and attracted many art lovers.
In the last days of October, S&S Art held a "Celebrating Life" party in Hanoi with the participation of the legendary Graffiti Cyril Kongo. This was Cyril Kongo's first greeting to Vietnamese audiences after 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also an opportunity for art lovers to gather, share and immerse themselves in the art space, also going through the journey and the latest works of “Mr. Colorful" Cyril Kongo.
"With Cyril Kongo Vietnam Gallery, I feel like finally, I'm back home," - artist Cyril Kongo shared when referring to his first Gallery in Vietnam.
Guests will have the opportunity to delve deeply into Cyril Kongo's personal experience and artistic journey from the first days to the present. All were reproduced through works, and models, with the participation of the artist himself - Cyril Kongo. He opened up about his new creative thinking, mastery of painting rules, and desire to discover his own limits, and at the same time, he wanted to inspire and instill confidence in Vietnamese young people who are doing their best to show their journey on the path of art.
“Celebrating Life” has left a strong impression on fans who communicated through space, and experienced street art.
The exhibition space of the party was full of colors. It was arranged in a subtle and intentional way. Audiences could see the limited edition Be@rbrick bears Cyril Kongo x Pinel et Pinel x Medicom Toy & enjoy works that were mixed with many colors, hot and cold.
Colorful exhibition space rich in energy and optimism
With Cyril Kongo, cultural identity is always the main source of inspiration and material in his paintings. Typically, in the painting "Kongo Tet 2021", the artist used the buffalo symbol on the background Kongo-style. At the same time, the work still has the traditional sound of Tet paintings and the Vietnamese festival flag by theme, color, and layout. This showed that the feeling and heart towards his father's homeland have been still imprinted in his soul.
The painting “Paris Hanoi” which was made on a silver-gray background symbolizes distant memories of childhood in Vietnam. Paris was the place where Cyril Kongo lived, also the place where he started his career, Hanoi was where he chose to book a gallery with the desire to promote the country's art, and Kongo - was where he found his art way.
The painting "Paris Hanoi" was conceived 3 years and completed when Cyril Kongo Vietnam Gallery opened. It was part of the artist's life and journey as well as the desire to become a connecting bridge and a source of fire for young Vietnamese to explore the art world strongly. Thus, the next generation of Vietnamese artists will be formed in the future.
A close-up of the Richard Mille 68-01 Cyril Kongo – the first open-air Graffiti watches to be finished with an airbrush tool used to spray and drip paint – dedicated to this collaboration with the challenge of preserving the color of the Cyril, the spirit of optimism, and the weight of the tourbillon movement must not be compromised.
Once again, art lovers admired the "borderless" of Cyril Kongo - known as the "magic man" on all materials, when admiring the Airbus corporate jet "flying gallery" model or Richard Millie's masterpiece watch – all on display at the “Celebrating Life” party. The special masterpiece "Horus Eye"- the only work remaining in the 3 large-sized paintings that made up the meaning of immortality, belongs to the Quai Voltaire collection by Cyril and the late legend Karl Lagerfeld.
Inspired by street culture, the "Celebrating Life" party brought a "party of the senses" with a menu of traditional Vietnamese street food. Besides, there were eye-catching and vibrant Hip hop performances by hip-hop dance groups.
Through the "Celebrating Life" party, S&S Art presented a playground, a bridge to gather art closer to the public, and at the same time create rendezvous points for the Vietnamese public to experience unique cultural and artistic experiences and bring art lovers get closer together.
