The hybrid plug-in version of the Lamborghini Super SUV arrives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
On the evening of November 7th, Lamborghini successfully unveiled the Urus SE, introducing the hybrid plug-in version of the Lamborghini Super SUV for the first time to the Vietnamese market. In order to provide a quintessential Lamborghini experience, the showroom was newly designed with a striking neon blue theme, making the star of the event, the Urus SE in Bianco Sapphirus, shine brilliantly amidst the palpable excitement of the attendees.
The event was welcomed by Raffaele Garribba, Area Manager of Southeast Asia, Lamborghini. “I am very pleased to be present at the first launch of the Urus SE in Vietnam today and would like to extend my gratitude to our partners at S&S Group, specifically S&S Automotive, for their continuous support in providing exceptional experiences for our customers,” he shared. S&S Automotive has forged a strong alliance with Lamborghini, marked by a series of triumphant ventures. These include the October 2022 debut of the Huracan Tecnica, the March 2023 launch of the Urus Performante SUV, and the introduction of HPEV Revuelto in March 2024.
In recent years, Lamborghini has emphasized its commitment to sustainable development and shared details about its journey to electrify the entire product lineup. With the Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, Lamborghini will hybridize all its models, and the Urus SE represents the second step in this strategy, taking the already successful Urus line to new heights with an all-new hybrid engine. The product lineup will be complete by 2028 with the launch of the Lanzador, the brand’s first fully electric vehicle.
The Urus SE continues to utilize the powerful V8 engine that has built the Urus line's reputation over the years and takes a significant step forward by combining this engine with an electric motor, resulting in a total output of 800 CV. This combination strikes an ideal balance between delivering an exhilarating driving experience and the need to reduce emissions. Compared to its predecessor, the Urus S, the Urus SE boasts a reduction in emissions by over 80% and can travel up to 60 km in pure electric mode.
Thanks to its improved power-to-weight ratio of 3.13 kg/CV compared to 3.3 kg/CV in the Urus S, the Urus SE can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in only 11.2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 312 km/h. These impressive figures make the SE the most powerful Urus ever and the fastest commercial vehicle in its segment, setting a new benchmark for super SUVs.
Moreover, the Urus SE impresses with a variety of driving modes designed to maximize the driving experience for customers. Thanks to the introduction of the hybrid powertrain, the six Urus driving modes are combined with four new Electric Performance Strategies (EPS), for a total of eleven options. The Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes (for road and track use), and the Neve, Sabbia, and Terra modes (for surfaces with a different grip than asphalt) are now accompanied by the EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge options.
In terms of design, Lamborghini consistently strives to imbue its vehicles with the brand’s unique DNA. From the front, the Urus SE stands out with its matrix LED headlights and daytime running lights inspired by the tail of a bull. At the rear, the hexagonal mesh details are inspired by the legendary Gallardo, harmonizing with the iconic “Y” shaped taillights that have become a symbol of the brand. Together with the new spoiler, the diffuser increases rear downforce by 35% at high speeds compared to the Urus S, further enhancing the vehicle’s stability. The alloy wheels are updated with the introduction of 23-inch Galanthus rims paired as standard with new Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Moving to the interior, the cabin has been updated to highlight Lamborghini’s signature “feel like a pilot” design DNA, featuring new solutions throughout the front section of the dashboard and accentuating the lightweight feeling already introduced on the Revuelto. A larger screen – now 12.3 inches – installed in the center of the dashboard features a new version of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is even more intuitive to use with updated graphics, making the driver feel like they are piloting an ‘aircraft.’
The Urus SE provides the most extensive selection of colors compared to other models in its category, featuring over 120 body customization options, 47 color combinations, and 4 different embroidery styles. Furthermore, Lamborghini has introduced the Ad Personam program to assist customers in designing their own unique version of the Urus SE.
