The partnership between BOVET 1822, led by Mr. Pascal Raffy—owner and visionary behind the brand—and tennis star Daniil Medvedev began in early 2019. Drawn to Medvedev’s distinctive style and strategic mindset, Mr. Raffy initiated a meeting to explore collaboration with the Russian athlete. Through their discussions, Mr. Raffy was deeply impressed by Medvedev’s maturity and insightful perspective, forming the foundation of a close relationship that thrives to this day.

Daniil Medvedev’s prowess on the tennis court is undeniable. Renowned for his powerful serves and precise strokes, he dominates matches with strategic brilliance. Currently ranked No. 5 in the world, Medvedev’s sights are set on further self-improvement and new milestones in 2025.

A Meeting of Excellence

Before Medvedev’s breakthrough successes, he and Mr. Raffy engaged in candid discussions on tennis, horology, and shared philosophies of work and life. This alignment of values quickly fostered a bond akin to family. With BOVET’s legacy intertwined with precision and Medvedev’s pursuit of mastery, the partnership was a natural fit.

“My agent reached out to BOVET, and when he told me about the opportunity, I immediately thought it would be an incredible project. BOVET creates some of the most complicated watches in the world, and I’m honored to be the Brand ambassador,” Medvedev shared.

Both Medvedev and BOVET uphold meticulous attention to detail in their crafts—whether in perfecting a tennis match or creating an exquisite timepiece. Their shared dedication to excellence has earned them numerous accolades, including BOVET’s triumph in the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) for Mechanical Exception and Medvedev’s 2021 US Open victory.

Igniting a Passion for Timepieces

As BOVET’s ambassador, Medvedev also discovers unparalleled experiences. During a visit to the BOVET Headquarter and manufacturing facility, Medvedev observed master artisans at work and even had a chance to assemble components of a timepiece himself.

“I admire the artisans for their precision and care. With 95% of BOVET’s timepieces crafted in-house, their independence is remarkable. I’ve learned how each watch has its own unique appeal, and some can even be personalized. It’s truly fascinating,” Medvedev remarked in an interview.

Witnessing the intricate craftsmanship and hearing the stories behind BOVET’s creations sparked Medvedev’s deep appreciation for horology. Despite tennis matches being unbound by time, Medvedev understands the significance of each moment—particularly in grueling matches that stretch for hours. With BOVET by his side, Medvedev feels supported in dedicating himself wholly to the sport.

Loyalty as the Cornerstone

Throughout Medvedev’s journey, BOVET has remained a steadfast companion. The mutual loyalty and trust they share have fortified their enduring partnership.

“Loyalty is a value I hold dear in every collaboration. There are highs and lows, but standing together is what matters most. We support and uplift one another through challenges. I’ve gotten to know many of BOVET’s employees, and we truly feel like family,” Medvedev stated.

Looking Ahead

The year 2025 heralds a new chapter in the friendship between BOVET and Medvedev, bringing fresh challenges and opportunities to achieve greater glory. Following its success at the 2024 GPHG, BOVET is poised to unveil even more intricate and captivating timepieces, as its artisans continue refining their craft alongside advancing technology.

For Medvedev, the goal is clear: to secure more titles in the upcoming season. With the Australian Open on the horizon, he and his team are focused and determined to deliver their best performances, setting the tone for a strong and positive 2025.

“We compete in around 20 tournaments a year, and I want to win every match I play. My goal is to work hard and give my all, so I have no regrets at the end of each season. I aim to learn from my successes and mistakes, always striving to do better in the next season,” Medvedev shared.

Together, BOVET 1822 and Daniil Medvedev continue to push the boundaries of their respective fields, united by their pursuit of excellence and passion for innovation.
